## HEADLINE Iran said it could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days if the United States lifts its naval blockade and meets Iranian demands, after indirect talks in Doha were reported to have ended without a breakthrough, while Trump again threatened strikes [198][186][1].

## TODAY IN REVIEW Indirect US-Iran talks in Doha were reported to have ended without a breakthrough, with Iranian negotiators reported to have left Doha and a draft US proposal said to be circulating [259][198][167]. Iran's Foreign Ministry said it was ready to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days if the United States lifts its naval blockade and accepts Iranian demands, and said message exchanges with Washington were continuing [186][206][160]. Iranian officials said the Strait could not reopen before US sanctions are lifted and framed a seven-point set of conditions, covering ceasefires across Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and Gaza, as the basis for negotiation [209][126]. No agreement had been announced at the time of writing.

Alongside the diplomacy, both sides signalled readiness for military action. Trump said no decision on Iran had been taken but repeatedly threatened strikes, saying the US could "finish the job" and deliver a "devastating blow" if talks fail [1][14][260].
