## HEADLINE Iran's IRGC Navy struck a Togo-flagged tanker in the Strait of Hormuz as Trump said he was weighing a resumption of large-scale attacks on Iran, with transits collapsing to a handful of vessels [18][35][312].

## TODAY IN REVIEW The Strait of Hormuz was the day's centre of gravity. The IRGC Navy struck the Togo-flagged tanker Trend, causing a fire and halting the vessel, an incident Iran said involved an "illegal passage" [18][22]. Iran launched anti-ship cruise missiles and drones from Qeshm Island and southern Iran toward the strait, with multiple explosions reported near Larak Island and off Khasab [13][133][52][47]. UKMTO reported a security incident off Oman with the crew safe [50]. In Washington, Trump told Axios he faced a "big decision" on whether to resume large-scale operations against Iran, framing the choice in stark terms, while the Pentagon and US officials said forces were prepared for wide-scale combat [34][40][104][105]. Alongside the military signalling, the US Treasury sanctioned Iranian individuals and entities and targeted digital-asset and banking infrastructure it described as evasion tools [63][80][82]. Russia and China vetoed a US bid to extend UN monitoring of Iran sanctions [58][169]. Fighting between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis widened.
